Comfort Mussa, renowned multimedia journalist and founder of SisterSpeak237 has earned national and international acclaim for her groundbreaking contributions across journalism, social justice, and community empowerment. Her work reflects the kind of strategic soft power that Power 237—spearheaded by the African Centre for Competitive Intelligence (ACCI) under the leadership of Dr Guy Gweth—seeks to harness in its vision to position Cameroon as Africa’s leading nation across all sectors.

Comfort Mussa’s trajectory is a compelling demonstration of how individual excellence, rooted in community engagement and strategic communication, can advance national development goals. Her voice has been heard on global platforms such as Radio France Internationale (RFI) and Al Jazeera, bringing Cameroonian stories to international audiences with clarity and compassion.

Her activism gained global recognition in 2020 when she received the Commonwealth Point of Light Award from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The award celebrated her work in promoting gender and disability inclusion during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her initiative, “Covid-19 Outreach”, provided sanitising materials and inclusive messaging tools to vulnerable communities in over seven regions of Cameroon. More than a humanitarian response, it was a model of inclusive crisis management that Power 237 could replicate in national resilience strategies.

Through her platform SisterSpeak237, Mussa has also created sustainable, rights-based interventions such as “Ask A Doctor” and “Access to Work”. These initiatives empower women, people with disabilities, and marginalised groups by providing them with medical guidance, legal protection, and professional training. In a country where grassroots innovation and civic participation must feed into national policy, Mussa’s work offers a template for inclusive development.

As Power 237 integrates hard power, soft power and smart power into its strategic approach, Comfort Mussa emerges as a critical asset. Her journalism, community activism and international networks make her a unique connector between local realities and global narratives. Her ability to amplify under-reported voices directly supports ACCI’s ambition to make Cameroon a model of African competitiveness, resilience, and unity.

By investing in and empowering figures like Comfort Mussa, Cameroon is not only embracing its brightest minds—it is signalling to the world that its rise to continental prominence will be driven by inclusive, intelligent and human-centred leadership.
