Our vision
Building a regional power by 2050
Africa is caught up in hyper-competition built mainly on three levers: hard power, soft power and smart power. To aim for continental leadership, every resource at our nation's disposal — without exception — must be identified, examined and mobilized by the State within a coordinated power strategy.
Power 237 pursues a threefold objective: bring stakeholders together around the concept of power, gather their contributions, then derive an actionable regional power strategy, at both sectoral and national level, and make it available to the relevant authorities.
Why this project?
A sovereignty issue
In a global environment where every State defends its own interests, strategic information becomes an instrument of sovereignty. Economic intelligence means collecting, analysing and protecting that information to decide better and faster.
Power 237 puts that intelligence to work for the country. Launched in 2024 as a national consultation, the initiative brings together public authorities, the private sector, civil society and the diaspora to map Cameroon's resources and turn them into a coordinated strategy.
What the project aims to achieve
- Reduce dependence on foreign markets and diversify the economy.
- Strengthen the country's negotiating power and national security.
- Improve Cameroon's image and showcase its expertise internationally.

Our analytical framework
Hard, soft, smart power: three pillars
Hard power
A country's ability to exert influence through its military, economic or technological strength: army, industry, economy and infrastructure.
Soft power
A country's attractiveness through its culture, values and ideas, promoted with conviction around the world.
Smart power
The smart combination of hard power and soft power to maximize influence and make the country's voice heard among nations.
