Puissance237: Peter Essoka, a veteran journalist and media personality, has been identified as a key figure in Cameroon’s media landscape by Puissance237, a project led by the African Centre for Competitive Intelligence (ACCI). This initiative, under the direction of Dr. Guy Gweth, aims to elevate Cameroon to the top of Africa by 2035.
With over four decades of experience, Mr Essoka has served in various capacities at the Cameroon Radio Television Corporation (CRTV) and international media outlets such as the BBC and Voice of America. His exceptional language skills and deep understanding of media dynamics have made him a trusted voice in the nation.
Beyond his journalistic pursuits, Mr Essoka has also contributed to public service. He has held positions on the National Communication Council and the National Commission on Human Rights and Freedoms. Currently, he serves as the Board Chair of the Trauma Centre, a renowned NGO in Cameroon.
Mr Essoka’s legacy extends to his role in shaping the media landscape in Africa. He has served as the President of Cameroon’s National Communication Council (NCC) and the African Communication Regulatory Authorities Network (ACRAN). His contributions to the development of media regulations and policies have had a significant impact on the continent.
Beyond his professional and familial ties, Essoka is a devoted Christian and a long-standing member and maestro of the Congregational choir of the Presbytarian church in the Bastos parish. He has authored several devotionals and inspirational works such as “Stand Up! Be Strong! Don’t Quit!”, “Lamentation for a Beloved Country” and “Journeying To My Emmaus”.
