On January 16, 2024, the Puissance237 national consultation marked a significant milestone as it brought together Cameroonian media under the leadership of the African Centre for Competitive Intelligence (ACCI). Located in the Bastos district of Yaoundé, this project aims to establish a regional power strategy for Cameroon from 2025 to 2035.
Representatives from print, broadcast, and digital media converged for this momentous event, with the objectives of gathering them around the concept of power, collecting diverse contributions, and formulating an actionable regional power strategy at both sectoral and national levels.
The sub-theme of this inaugural consultation, “Making Cameroonian Media Leaders in Africa,” served as the focal point for discussions and commitments throughout the day.
The Puissance237 initiative will run from January 16 to December 5, 2024.
Participants emphasized the importance of establishing media regulations that align with their current needs while fostering innovation and long-term vision. They unanimously highlighted the significance of upholding ethical standards and ensuring information quality in the face of digital and technological advancements.
Led by Dr. Guy GWETH, a Doctor in Public Affairs and President of ACCI, the Puissance237 initiative will run from January 16 to December 5, 2024. ACCI is the leading pan-African institution for training, certification, and the implementation of competitive, strategic intelligence, and due diligence mechanisms throughout Africa.
This unprecedented gathering has reinforced cohesion and a shared vision among Cameroonian media.
Following a day of intense and constructive consultations, media actors in Cameroon display unwavering determination to position themselves as a significant force on the continental scale, working alongside ACCI to develop a coordinated power strategy involving all national and diaspora actors. This unique gathering marks the beginning of a promising era of media leadership, paving the way for a concerted and shared approach to shaping the future of Cameroon’s media landscape.
