Dr. Arsène Tema Biwolé believes that nuclear fusion is the key to meeting our society’s energy needs in a clean and sustainable way. That’s why he has set a goal to create an artificial sun.
Born in Cameroon, Arsène Stéphane Tema Biwolé quickly distinguished himself with his aptitude for science. After obtaining his baccalaureate at the age of 17, he traveled to Italy and enrolled at the Polytechnic University of Turin. There, he earned his degree in nuclear engineering in 2012, graduating top of his class. His thirst for knowledge then led him to the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), where he completed his Ph.D. in nuclear energy, specializing in nuclear fusion. His research focuses on plasma diagnostics in tokamaks, experimental machines aimed at achieving nuclear fusion on Earth.A recognized expert in nuclear fusion
From 2018 to 2021, Dr. Arsène Stéphane Tema Biwolé dedicated himself wholeheartedly to his doctoral thesis in nuclear energy, specializing in nuclear fusion. His research was conducted with rigor and passion, making him quickly become an expert in his field. With his in-depth knowledge, he was subsequently appointed as a teaching and research associate in controlled nuclear fusion at the Swiss Plasma Physics Center, within the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne.
Today, Dr. Arsène Stéphane Tema Biwolé is recognized as one of the world’s leading experts in nuclear fusion, and he works tirelessly to fulfill his dream: creating an artificial sun for energy purposes. This ambitious quest is not without challenges, but he remains convinced that controlled nuclear fusion is the key to meeting our society’s energy needs in a clean and sustainable manner.
Dr. Tema Biwolé’s project has garnered significant interest in the scientific community, as nuclear fusion offers an almost limitless source of energy without the production of radioactive waste.
In June 2023, he joined the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to continue his research on nuclear fusion, one of the top universities in the United States (ranked 6th by Forbes in 2022).
For #Puissance237, Dr. Tema Biwolé is a symbol of hope for the future of Africa. His work on nuclear fusion could revolutionize energy production and contribute to sustainable development on the continent.
